Rita Moreno - ABC

Puerto Rican actress and industry legend Rita Moreno will be presented with the Lynn Stalmaster Award, one of the Casting Society of America’s (CAS) highest career honors, at the 38th Artios Awards. The Artios Awards are given to casting professionals who have achieved remarkable success in theater, television, and film. The event is hosted by CAS and will take place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on March 9, 2023, with Community actress Yvette Nicole Brown returning as the host.

Moreno has several accolades under her belt. After winning an Oscar for the original, Moreno received an Academy Award nomination last year for Steven Spielberg's West Side Story. In 2002, she was also given the Stanley Kramer Award by the Producers Guild. These achievements are some of the most recent in a seven-decade career that started with her Broadway debut at the age of 13. Moreno has acted in numerous TV shows and more than 40 feature films. At the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, her documentary Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go for It received its world premiere. Her latest project is the sports comedy 80 for Brady, set to release in theaters on February 3, 2023.

The EGOT-qualifying accolades for Moreno also include two Emmys, a Grammy in 1973, and a Tony in 1974. In addition, she has been awarded a Kennedy Center Honor, the SAG Life Achievement Award, the Peabody Career Achievement Award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush, and the National Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama.
