Quinta Brunson to Be Honored By the Annual ICG Publicists Awards

Quinta Brunson will receive the 2023 Showperson Award at the 60th International Cinematographers Guild (ICG) Publicists Awards on March 10, 2023, in Los Angeles at The Beverly Hilton. The Television Showperson of the Year Award is given by ICG to a person, team, or organization whose original contributions to the conception, development, production, or presentation of television projects best exemplify showmanship. Bronson joins a distinguished list of former winners that includes Taika Waititi, Ava DuVernay, Shonda Rhimes, and Sterlin Harjo.

As a showrunner, creator, head writer, executive producer, and star, Brunson has received numerous accolades for her mockumentary series, Abbott Elementary. Brunson’s innovative series has been regarded and rewarded as one of the best comedy series, receiving three Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes, the Critics’ Choice Award for “Best Comedy Series,” as well as Screen Actors Guild Awards, Writers Guild of America Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Film Independent Spirit Awards, and Producers Guild of America Awards.

Quinta Brunson's passion as a creator was praised by Tim Menke, chair of the ICG Publicists Awards, who is thrilled that he and the organization are honoring her for her abilities and leadership in bringing Abbott Elementary to television audiences. The sitcom has been given a third season order and is currently releasing brand-new episodes on ABC and Hulu every week.
