Shanghai International Film Festival To Showcase World Premieres
The Shanghai International Film Festival will showcase world premieres of the latest works by Chinese directors Gu Changwei, Wei Shujun, and Guan Hu. After winning the Un Certain Regard award for his film Black Dog at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Hu will premiere his next film titled The Hedgehog in Shanghai’s main competition.
There are a total of 14 films in the festival’s main competition, 12 of which being world premieres. The winners will win Golden Goblet awards, which is decided by a jury headed by Tran Anh Hung.
This is the festival’s 26th edition, and it will run from June 14-23. A day after it finishes, the 29th edition of the Shanghai Television Festival will start its run from June 24-28.
