The 51th Annual Daytime Emmy's POC Winners
The 51th Daytime Emmy Awards took place on June, 7th 2024 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The Daytime Emmy Awards are bestowed by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), recognizing excellence in U.S. American primetime television programming. General Hospital led the soap opera categories with four wins and African Queens: Njinga led the unscripted categories with three wins. The POC winners are listed below.
Outstanding Daytime Drama Series: General Hospital. This is GH’s fourth consecutive. With 17 overall wins from a total of 35 nominations in this category.
Writing for a Drama Series: General Hospital. This is GH’s fifth overall win from a total of 29 nominations in this category.
Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: Robert Gossett, General Hospital. This is Gossett’s second consecutive nomination and second win for this category. It is also his third Daytime Emmy nomination overall. His first being for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series in 2021.
Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host: Live with Kelly and Mark. This is the first win with current cohosts by Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa.
Outstanding Entertainment News Series: Entertainment Tonight. Currently cohosted by Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner, this ET’s fifth consecutive win. With nine wins overall from a total of 11 nominations.
Outstanding Personality – Daily: Matt Cohen, Cassie DiLaura, Denny Directo, Kevin Frazier, Will Marfuggi, Rachel Smith, and Nischelle Turner, Entertainment Tonight.
Note: General Hospital additionally won for Outstanding Directing Team for a Daytime Drama Series.
