‘A Journey in Spring’ To Be Flagbearer In Tapei Film Festival Competition
A Journey in Spring, directed by Peng Tzu-hui and Wang Ping-wen, has been set as flagbearer in the Taipei Film Festival’s international competition section. The film will compete with Beyond the Fog by Murase Daichi, Brief History of a Family by Lin Jianjie, Encounters by Dmitry Moiseev, The Featherweight by Robert Kolodny, Foremost by Night by Víctor Iriarte, Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person by Ariane Louis-Seize, My Sunshine by Okuyama Hiroshi, Scream by Kenzhebek Shaikakov, and Who Do I Belong To by Meryam Joobeur.
A jury headed by Chinese director Wang Xiaoshuai will decide the winners of the talent competition. The jury consists of Taiwan actor and director Kai Ko, festival selector Lim Cheng-Sim, Laha Mebow, and Sadai Yuji.
The Taipei Film Festival will run from June 21 - July 6 at the Zhongshan Hall, Vieshow Cinema Xinyi and SPOT-Huashan Cinemas.

The second edition of mini-festival Eye Catcher Global will take place in Hong Kong June 19-23. The event plans to promote more indie films that have unique visions, strong personal styles, and multi-genre approaches.
The artistic director of the Directors’ Fortnight, Julian Rejl, will preside over the jury panel for the Asian new director competition. He will also host a talk session that will urge young, up and coming filmmakers to have a future-forward mindset.
