Ratings Report: ‘Ghosts’ Crushes It For CBS, ‘Cross’ Pulls Through For Amazon

Broadcast: CBS’s spiritual sitcom, Ghosts, is currently airing its fourth season on the broadcast channel with its fifth episode airing on November 14th with it receiving a P2+ audience viewership of 5.401 million. Ghosts is currently the eighth most popular series on CBS and the 20th overall with a current rating of 1.7%, which is up +2 from the week before airing its fifth episode. The fourth season of the series is currently sitting at 97% on Rotten Tomatoes critic score, with an audience score of 83%. The series was originally going to be an 18-episode season but was shortened, due to being affected by the writers’ and actors’ strikes in 2023, thus the season will only be 10 episodes total.

Ghosts follows freelance journalist Samantha and her husband, Jay, a professional chef, played by Rose McIver (Once Upon A Time, iZombie) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (Pitch Perfect, Free Guy) respectively, as they go from the city to inheriting a huge run-down country estate. The couple plans to renovate the home and turn it into a bed and breakfast – only to find that the property is inhabited by the many souls of the deceased residents which include a saucy Prohibition-era lounge singer, an overbearing 1700's Militiaman, a '60s hippie fond of hallucinogens and an overly upbeat '80s scout troop leader. Starring alongside McIver and Ambudkar in the series will be Rebecca Wisocky (NCIS, Bones), Sheila Carrasco (The Donor Party, Leo), Brandon Scott Jones (Renfield, The Good Place), Asher Grodman (The Train, BuzzKill), Roman Zaragoza (This is Their Land, Born Native), Danielle Pinnock (Young Sheldon, Thoughts and Prayers), Devan Chandler Long (Dirt, Doom Patrol) and more. The next episode of Ghosts airs on December 5th on CBS.

Streaming: The crime thriller series Cross, starring Aldis Hodge (The Invisible Man, The Walking Dead) and based on the Alex Cross novel series written by James Patterson, premiered on November 14th. Patterson also had a hand in producing the series alongside showrunner Ben Watkins. The series released all eight episodes at once on Amazon Prime Video, receiving positive reception. Rotten Tomatoes critics gave the series a 75% and an audience score of 71%.

Metro Detective, alongside his best friend and partner, Detective John Sampson played by Isaiah Mustafa (It, NCIS). Together they pursue some of America’s most dangerous killers and navigate the criminal underworld, all while Cross protects his family from the threats he pursues. The cast also includes Samantha Walkes (Deadly Estate, Orphan: First Kill), Ryan Eggold (Blacklist, 90210) Alona Tal (Broken City, Supernatural), Johnny Ray Gill (Opening Night, NCIS), Jennifer Wigmore (Suits, Malory Towers), Stacie Grenwell (3 From Hell, Mayor of Kingstown), Juanita Jennings (Deliverance, Midnight Son), Sharon Taylor (Jann, Bad Blood), and more.
