Demos: ABC Dominates, Netflix Leads

Broadcast: For the month of September, ABC once again dominated its competitors with an average P2+ primetime viewership of 3.9 million in part thanks to 9-1-1 which saw a boost of 216% for the show. CBS saw a P2+ primetime viewership of 2.1 million views for this month with its star scripted show being Matlock which saw a total audience viewership of 7.7 million. NBC followed with a primetime viewership average of 2.8 million for this month with Chicago Fire helping the numbers with its’ 13th season that began this month. With a boost of 217% for its flagship emergency drama, 9-1-1: Lone Star, FOX’s viewership held out at an average of 1.3 million for the month. Finally, The CW saw an average viewership for P2+ audiences at 380,000 with The Conners

Cable: Holding a steady lead in the cable networks, BET holds with an average P2+ primetime average of 189,000 with its lead show being House of Payne with 306,000 total viewers. Weather Channel had an average of 130,000, followed by Magnolia Network with an average audience of 107,000, and followed by Justice Central with 89,000. OWN held its own at 85,000 with Love & Marriage: Detroit’s second season. Finally Comedy.TV had an average audience viewership of 10,000 followed by 7,000 for Cleo TV.

Spanish Language: In the realm of Spanish-language TV, Univision ruled overall with an average audience primetime viewership of 991,000 with Liga MX and Tu Vida es Mi Vida. UniMas then followed with an average audience primetime viewership of 335,000 with Enamorándonos leading the charge with a total audience viewership of 512,000. Telemundo followed right behind with an average audience primetime viewership of 226,000, with its novelas El Señor de los Cielos and La Casa de los Famosos leading the way. TUDN then followed a bit behind in terms of audience viewership with Universo close behind with 65,000 and 50,000 respectively. GalaNovelas and BelN Sports Espanol also had 12,000 and 2,000 audience viewership.

Streaming: During the month of August, streaming accounted for 41 percent of all TV watched, with Netflix leading the path with KAOS and Emily In Paris at 7.9 percent of total viewership for this month. Netflix outpaced its competitors overall with the following competitors, like Amazon Prime video with Rings of Power and Hulu with Grey’s Anatomy, at 3.1% and 2.4% respectively. Disney+ received 2.3%of the total TV viewership within this month. Peacock reached a total viewership of 2.1%, followed by Tubi with 1.8%, Roku Channel with 1.7% and Max with 1.3% of TV watched for the month.
