Hard Numbers: 'Survivor' On Top
Contestant: The first three episodes of Season 7 of The Masked Singer has averaged a 0.77 18-49 demo rating and 4.116 million viewers. Although the premiere garnered a 0.87 rating, the two episodes that followed only produced 0.71 and 0.72 ratings. In comparison to the previous season, which averaged a 1.21 demo rating and 5.11 million viewers, Season 7 has seen a definite drop in ratings.
Season 42 of CBS’s Survivor has had high ratings so far, breaking Chicago Fire’s demo-winning streak in the March Wednesday primetime lineup. The March 16th episode earned a 0.8 demo rating and 4.84 million viewers, topping The Masked Singer, Chicago Med, and The Goldbergs. The next week’s episode was also successful, topping the demo ratings once again with a 0.8 rating and 5.19 million viewers.
Informative: For the weeks of March 7th to March 28th, Don Lemon Tonight averaged 0.167 in the demo and 971,000 viewers. There was a decline in ratings from the start of the month to the end of the month. During the week of March 7th, Don Lemon Tonight earned a demo rating of 0.25, but during the week of March 28th, the ratings dropped down to 0.12.
Docusoap: Bravo’s Summer House, which follows a group people in their thirties living in New York City and the Hamptons, has seen a steady decrease in ratings over recent seasons. Season 4 averaged 647,000 viewers and 0.23 in the demo. Season 5 saw a decrease in ratings, producing an average 520,000 viewers and a 0.18 demo rating. So far, season 6 has decreased in viewers, earning an average of 509,000. However, season 6’s demo rating increased slightly to 0.19. The season is currently taking a mid-season break, which could influence the ratings as the show moves forward.
The ratings for NBC’s The Courtship have been low. During the week of March 7th, in which The Courtship debuted, the demo rating was 0.2 and there were 0.92 million viewers. Recently, the series was pulled from NBC and moved to USA Network, which may have an impact on the ratings as the show goes forward.
Streaming: Season 14 of Married at First Sight, which is streaming on Philo, currently has a 6.2/10 IMDb rating. The series is taking a mid-season break; as many consider this season the “messiest” and “most dramatic” of the show, this break could work as a way for audience members to refresh themselves before diving back into the series once it starts releasing new episodes.
