Contestant: On Thursday, August 20, CBS’ Big Brother had a total of 4.08 million viewers and had a rating of 0.9/ 4 for the 18-49 category. Big Brother has been running since June 2000 and is one of the few game shows to be hosted by an Asian American woman for such a long period of time. CBS had the winning score among broadcasters in Thursday prime, with Big Brother setting the pace. On Friday August 21, at 8pm NBC’s America’s Got Talent had slightly lower view at 2.13 million and had a rating of 0.4 for the 18-49 category. America’s Got Talent also recently had comedian Kenan Thompson as a judge on the show. Thompson’s popularity and sense of humor may have added to the promotion of America’s Got Talent. America's Got Talent reached 5.078 million viewers and a rating of 0.6 for adults 18-49 the same day the Democratic Nominee Convention was held on NBC.

Informative: On Friday August 21, Fox News’ Outnumbered Overtime at 1pm had a rating of 0.18 for adults 18-49. The show had 1,971,000 total viewers, giving the show a view count above its average. ESPN’s First Take at 10 AM had a weak turnout that same Friday. Unlike outnumbered overtime, the show was below average in response, with a low view count of 383,000. First Take’s ratings for people 18-49 was 0.14, which was average. The ratings for the demographic of 18-34 were .09, and for the demographic of 25-54 the rating was 0.17. The ratings for the age group of 50+ was 0.11, which is the only age group that week that had a rating below average.

Docudrama: Although not by much, ABC’s Shark Tank continues to maintain its relevance in the reality TV docudrama realm of television entertainment. By the end of May earlier this year the show had seen a 5.47% increase in season average viewer count. The 11th season amassed a season average of 3.889 million viewers by the end of the last episode airing. However, on Friday, August 21 at 8pm, Shark Tank had a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That episode had 2.75 million viewer count. This is a big decrease in viewer response compared to earlier in the year.
