Veteran Producer Mfundi Vundla Will Receive Award From South Africa's Presidency For His Work On SABC1's ‘Generations’

Veteran TV producer Mfundi Vundla will receive the Order of Ikhamanga in silver from South Africa's presidency for his work on the long-running SABC1 weekday prime-time soap opera Generations: The Legacy. The Order of Ikhamanga is a National Order granted by the country's president for achievements in arts, culture, journalism, sports, literature, and music.

The studio behind the soap opera, Morula Pictures, stated how proud they and everyone from Generations: The Legacy are to celebrate and congratulate Mfundi Vundla. They added, "Since the dawn of democracy Mfundi Vundla has been a stalwart and consistent creator of impactful stories that have shaped the aspirations and hopes of South Africans." Believing Vundla to be iconic in his industry, Morula Pictures claims, "His immense contributions [as] a pioneer of uniquely South African soapies is being duly recognized and at Generations: The Legacy, we cannot be prouder to be associated with such an iconic figure in the history of arts and culture.”

Mfundi Vundla will receive his honor alongside other recipients during a national ceremony on April 28, 2023.
