Spike Lee and Jackie Chan are joining a growing assortment of film industry leaders who will participate in a series of in-conversation sessions over the course of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival. According to festival CEO Mohammed Al Turki, these conversations are meant to bring together some of the leading voices in international cinema to share their experiences on the big screen with Saudi Arabian audiences.

Spike Lee and Jackie Chan join the likes of Cuban-born American actor Andy Garcia, Hindi cinematographer Akshay Kumar, Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys For Life), Indian actors Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan, and numerous other international stars with more names still set to be confirmed.

The Red Sea International Film Festival is a ceremony held in Jeddah of Western Saudi Arabia, focusing on new storytelling trends and emerging talents from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, and the rest of the Global South. The festival seeks to establish a solid foundation for the film industry in Saudi Arabia. This will be the festival’s second appearance and will occur between December 1-10, 2022. In addition to featuring critically acclaimed films from Saudi Arabia, a curated selection of titles from around the world will be part of the itinerary.
