Michelle Yeoh Will Receive The Palm Springs Film Festival’s International Star Award

Actress Michelle Yeoh will receive the International Star Award, Actress, at the 2023 Palm Springs International Film Awards for her lead performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once. Her role as Evelyn Wang, an immigrant Chinese American woman unwittingly recruited to save the multiverse, is noted by many to be a career best for her. So far, the film has received numerous accolades with many dedicated to Michelle Yeoh.

Yeoh has been honored over the past few months not only for her performance in the movie but also for the 40-year career she has built. Her recent awards have included the Groundbreaker Award at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, an honorary doctorate from the American Film Institute, and recognition at Elle's Women in Hollywood event in October.

Yeoh has also participated in events and panels with her Everything Everywhere All At Once costars and directors. The multigenerational cast, noted for giving impassioned interviews, seems to be a closely knit group. Her upcoming projects include the Disney+ series American Born Chinese, an undisclosed role in the next Transformers movie, and Kenneth Branagh’s Agatha Christie adaptation A Haunting in Venice.

The 2023 Palm Springs International Film Awards will take place on January 5, 2023, at the Palm Springs Convention Center, with the festival running until January 16, 2023.
