Critics Choice Association To Honorees ‘Celebration of Cinema and TV: Honoring Black, Latino & AAPI'

The Critics Choice Association has announced the honorees for their upcoming Celebration of Cinema and Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements. Hosted by Nicco Annan of P-Valley, the event will be held on December 4 at the Fairmont Century Plaza.

This year’s honorees include:

Emmy Award-winning actor and producer Edward James Olmos shall receive the Icon Award for his astounding career including Selena, Zoot Suit, Stand and Deliver, and Mayans M.C. Emmy Award-winning actress, producer, and advocate Sheryl Lee Ralph will receive the Career Achievement Award for her extensive work in entertainment with over 100 credits including titles like Abbott Elementary, Ray Donovan, Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, Moesha, and To Sleep with Anger.

Ken Jeong will be presented with the Comedy Trailblazer Award for his work on Crazy Rich Asians, Community, The Masked Singer, and The Hangover franchise. Emmy Award-winning actor Jeffrey Wright will receive the Visionary Award for his performance in American Fiction.

Emmy and SAG Award-winning actress America Ferrera will accept the Groundbreaker Award for her performances in titles like Barbie and Dumb Money. Oscar-nominated Charles D. King shall receive the Produce Award for his most recent work on Netflix’s They Cloned Tyrone. Award-winning director, producer, actress and advocate Eva Longoria will receive the Breakthrough Director Award for Film for directing Flamin’ Hot.

SAG Award-nominated actress Greta Lee will receive the Actress Award for Film for her performance in Past Lives. Emmy Award-winning actor and writer Colman Domingo will receive the Actor Award for Film for his performance in Rustin. The Supporting Actress Award for Film will be awarded to Da’Vine Joy Randolph for her performance in The Holdovers.

Emmy-nominated narrative filmmaker and documentarian Allen Hughes will receive the Documentary Series Award for his work directing Dear Mama.

The Actor Award for Television will be presented to Damson Idris for his performance in Snowfall. The Supporting Actress Award for Television will be awarded to Jessica Williams for her work on Shrinking. The Supporting Actor Award for Television will be awarded to Oscar Montoya for his work in Minx.

The cast of The Color Purple, which includes Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Fantasia Barrino, H.E.R., Halle Bailey, Phylicia Pearl Mpasi, Column Domingo and Corey Hawkins, will be presented with the Ensemble Award.

Oscar-nominated filmmaker and playwright Kemp Powers will receive the Animation Award for his work on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Animator and filmmaker Makoto Shinkai will receive the International Animation Award for Suzume.

Three Breakthrough Performance Awards will be awarded to Teyana Taylor for her performance in A Thousand and One, Emmy-nominee Camila Morrone in Daisy Jones & The Six, and Charles Melton in May December. The Breakthrough Director Award for Television will be presented to Lee Sung Jin for his work on Beef.

Lastly, the Rising Star Awards will be presented to Xolo Maridueña for his performance in The Blue Beetle and Emmy-nominee Keivonn Woodard for his work on The Last of Us.
