Broadcast Announcement For The 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards
It was announced on Tuesday, April 26, that the 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on Friday, June 24. The announcement comes from the CBS Television Network, which will host the ceremony this year. This broadcast shall be the 16th year CBS has hosted the Emmy Awards. The ceremony will be at the Pasadena Civic Center in Pasadena, California. With COVID-19 sanctions lessening in the state, attendance is expecting a higher turnout than last year. The Emmy nominations will be announced Thursday, May 5.
There will be an addition for this year’s Emmy Awards. Due to the increase in entries for children’s programming, the 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will include its first annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards category. The ceremony is produced by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) and the Associated Television International (ATI). ATI has produced for Daytime Emmy Award ceremonies on both the CW and CBS Television Network. Executive producers Adam Sharp and Steve Ulrich from NATAS will work together with David McKenzie, an executive producer from ATI.
