On March 10, 2023, the winners of the 6th Annual Royalty Soapie Awards were announced. The Royalty Soapie Awards recognize the important role soapies play in society and aim to develop and grow talent by setting a high standard for the soapie business and recognizing and rewarding those who achieve in South Africa.
The biggest winners of the ceremony were House of Zwide – 4 awards, The River – 4 awards, and Gomora – 3 awards. The event also included a Viewer’s Choice Awards segment where fans voted for their favorite nominations for the Viewer’s Choice Best Actor, Best Actress, Most Watched Show, and Most Popular Show.
