Lindsay Salice began posting on Instagram in 2013 with a steady stream of flattering pictures and comedic videos. Posting on social media as Salice Rose, Salice has ventured into different avenues of the social media world, from long form content on YouTube to a podcast and adult content. Shifting between platforms and maintaining a following for over a decade is a difficult act to juggle, so how has Salice managed to do this?

Handle: Salice posts on many social media platforms. She is on YouTube as @officialsalicerose, Instagram as @salicerose, Facebook as @OfficialSaliceRose, and TikTok as @officialsalicerose. Her account on X is @salice_roseee, though she has not posted since 2020. Salice also posts on the adult platform OnlyFans. Her linktree lists an Amazon Storefront, her official website, and her Cameo page.

Series: Salice has created many successful series throughout her career. Because of the length of her career, several series on her channel are defunct due to shifting trends; some of these include her series of story time videos and Q & A's. However, Salice’s podcast, “The Salice Rose Show,” is one of her most popular series at the moment. It can be watched and listened to on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.

Creators: Salice runs all of her socials.

Platform: Salice posts on multiple social media platforms. She began posting on Instagram in 2013, but in 2014 she expanded to YouTube, where she hit virality. With the cultural shift toward short-form content, Salice moved to TikTok. Though she posts on all of these platforms and has amassed a larger TikTok following than YouTube subscriber base, she is known for her YouTube videos and Instagram account.

Genre(s): Salice’s content focuses on lifestyle and comedy.

Subscribers: Salice’s largest followings are on Instagram and TikTok, where she has a following of 19.6 million followers each. Her YouTube account has 2.05 million subscribers, her Facebook page has 2.7 million followers, and her X account has 447.9 thousand followers.

After posting content on Instagram for about a year, Salice started posting content on YouTube. Following the trends at the time, Salice’s videos consisted of vlogs, story times, and challenges. Though this type of content may not fall under the lifestyle genre, there is an easy transition from vlogging to lifestyle videos. Salice’s commentary has always been comedic; she often makes jokes and shares bizarre situations in these vlogs. Her comedic timing has carried through in her ventures into other forms of media, like her podcast.

Salice’s first video to go viral was “Late Night Thoughts.” During the video’s 45- minute runtime, Salice tearfully details her late-night anxieties and struggles with mental health. She expressed a candid vulnerability that audiences immediately empathized with. The video amassed a million views over the course of a few weeks. Gaining subscribers, Salice’s new audience had access to both her comedic side and her sensitivity.

The next three years would add a new string of videos to Salice’s channel that leaned into the lifestyle genre she currently occupies. Salice posted several makeup videos that focused more on herself than the landscape of beauty videos at the time, which typically featured product reviews and makeup tutorials. The most popular of these beauty videos—“HOW I DID MY MAKEUP IN HIGH SCHOOL!” and “HOW I MAKE MY EYELASHES SO LONG!!!” —are Salice-centric, letting the audience in on Salice’s life while introducing them to something new.

Though this shift in content occurred after Salice’s viral and emotional video, Salice continued to be vulnerable on camera. Salice shared a video titled “My Coming Out Story,” which detailed how she came out as bisexual. Coming out can be a difficult aspect of any person’s private life, but doing so on the Internet can lead to an onslaught of backlash from strangers. Salice also shared other difficult aspects of her life including a video titled “My Best Friend Passed Away” and her history with domestic abuse. She has continuously advocated for domestic abuse survivors since first sharing her story online.

“The Salice Rose Show” was first uploaded on YouTube in October of 2022. Hosted by Salice, the podcast is available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts as well. Routinely, a special guest joins Salice to discuss various questions, which range in topic from personal and lighthearted to existential and deep. Salice has featured people from all walks of life, such as sex workers, actors, musicians, and lifestyle influencers.

Salice has also started to release music. Her YouTube channel features a music video and lyric video for her new song, “FOR LIFE.” She has heavily promoted the track on her social media accounts. In this slow vibey song with Spanish and English lyrics, Salice expresses a dismissal to an ex-lover in a beat-heavy chorus. The song is an excellent entry into the canon of ex-lover songs. Her message is simple: Salice can do better than you, she deserves better than you, and you can go to hell.

With a career on the Internet spanning more than a decade, Salice has tried on many hats. Despite hopping from platform to platform, Salice has maintained an audience with each of her ventures, a testament to her charisma and openness. Who knows where she’ll go next? No matter, her audience will certainly follow her.
