With October in full swing, many creators are upp-ing their fall themed content and releasing more and more spooky and pumpkin spiced videos. The YouTube channel, Clevver Style, makes a myriad of content on topics such as food, celebrities, fashion and makeup. Seven girls run the show as they react, try and test different experiences, lifestyles, fashions and more. Sticking to the season, Clevver Style released a new video entitled, “10 Best and Worst Halloween Treats.” In this video, creators Jackie, Rachel and Drew parade around Disney California Adventure and try ten Halloween themed treats as part of the parks new “Oogie Boogie Bash.” The girls sample each treat and rate it on a small of one to five pumpkin emojis, so visitors know which to try and which to skip.

The treats come in a range of colors, flavors, sizes and shapes. Examples of some of the spooky treats the girls encounter in this video include: pumpkin spiced churros, caramel apple milkshakes and vampire themed ice cream bars. They even take a break from the sweets to try “rest in peace-strami fries,” or fries covered in pastrami, pickles and mustard. Watch to find out how each taste-tester rated each item, so you know what to look out for at Disneyland this time of year. Whether you’re a seasoned card holder or have never been to Disneyland and live across the world, this video gives you a glimpse into what Disney California Adventure looks and tastes like this time of year.

With fall weather comes fall fashion and many creators this season look to the thrift store for comfy, oversized and chunky inspiration. Kimmy Tong focuses her channel all around fashion- where to buy cheap items, how to style certain items, what sneakers to buy for what season and so much more. Recently, she has joined the trend and started shopping for fall fashion herself- this time at her local thrift store. Based out of Canada, Tong takes her viewers on a shopping spree to see what hidden gems can be found and bought second hand.

Tong’s videos are very meticulous and thought out. They begin with her making a wish-list of items she hopes to find while shopping. Thus, she has more purpose while browsing and doesn’t waste time on items she does not need. Then, Tong takes her viewers to the racks as they scour along with her, looking for adidas trefoils or nike swooshes amidst the racks. She makes her picks then heads home to show the viewers everything she has bought and how much she paid. She then tried on all of her items and suggests ways to style them. Viewers can then head to their local thrift shops and hunt for similar items to style in a similar way to Tong. She offers a multitude of tips and ways to style one piece and provides any viewer inspiration on how and where to get cozy for the fall season.

The Youtube channel, Munchies, has a mission to explore and spread diverse foods and cultural experiences from all over the world. Each video highlights a unique restaurant or menu item or teaches viewers how to make a certain dish right from the chef themselves. Most recently, as part of their “Street Food Icons” series, Munchies explores Dollar Hits- a Fillipino staple in Los Angeles that serves 33 different kinds of skewers for only a dollar each. Elvira Chan, with her sisters Nelita and Joyce, opened Dollar Hits in 2013 after moving from the Philippines to America with only one table only and it has since become a cult favorite in L.Aa’s Fillipinotown. Locals can taste delicacies such as pork intestine, chicken feet and balot or duck egg cooked right in front of them on an outside grill. Munchies promotes small local eateries to over three million subscribers every week, encouraging viewers to try new and diverse flavors.

After Millie Bobby Brown announced that she was coming out with a makeup line, the beauty community on YouTube started charging their cameras, itching for the chance to be one of the first to review the new “clean beauty” products. Jackie Aina was really excited at the prospect of a young, bright face on the beauty scene such as Brown, who is only fifteen. The name, Florence by Mills and the simple lavender packaging caught her eye from the start, causing Aina to film a whole video trying out all the products in the line. She assesses the price, the effectiveness and the overall performance of the products in a lighthearted and entertaining way. Some things pleasantly surprised her, like the option of a few darker shades to match her complexion, while others did not, like the extreme oxidization of the foundation after application. This would be the perfect video to watch for Brown fans or makeup lovers who are considering purchasing Florence by Mills’ products, especially those with darker skin tones like Aina. Aina’s three million subscribers rely on her commitment to being honest and thorough in all of her reviews and this is no exception. In over thirty minutes, Aina explains the in’s and out’s, the hits and misses, and the good and the bad of each product and the line overall in an informed and eloquent way.

Q&A videos have become tired and outdated for most YouTube creators. However, certain video makers still find ways to make them new and exciting. Filipino creator Laureen Uy fits this category completely. Known for her fashion and travel content, Uy often takes time away from these passions to connect with her 243 thousand subscribers on a more personal level. This week, to celebrate her thirtieth birthday, Uy filmed a themed “Birthday Q&A,” where she only answered questions centered around birthdays. These included how she celebrated her birthday in the past, the worst gift she has ever received and where she wants to travel to for her birthday next. Switching between English and Tagalog, Uy’s thirty questions allow her subscribers to get to know her more intimately. This stray from her normal content provides the perfect display of meaningful interaction between creators and their subscribers.
