Indie Content Creators: Future Neighbors’ tasty inspiration

There comes a point in our lives where cooking entices us in some way or another. Whether it’s the inspiration that stems from watching countless cooking shows on your television screen to sharing your favorite meal with a close friend or family, it is clear that food remains a key part of everybody’s life. Content creators Daniel and Katie have become a prime example of this in the digital platform world with their flavourful content.

Future Neighbor serves as a platform for a variety of Korean recipes that can turn out to be quite surprising for viewers. In their videos, Daniel and Katie successfully showcase different aspects of their culture by presenting home-cooked meals that aim to inspire even the least of cooks. The couple constantly aspires to educate future generations by also introducing different historic elements of the Korean food created in their mini-office/studio in Seoul.

The format of the videos proves to be effective, as the content keeps viewers intrigued about which recipe will be showcased next in the ongoing food chronicles of our duo. What also makes Daniel and Katie’s content likable is the detail of simpleness added to the process of creating each meal. All recipes are well explained along with its ingredients, quantities, variety, and final result.

Videos can last from 4 to 15 minutes with Daniel acting as our main chef and Katie his toughest critic. This makes for a great dynamic from the couple, as they each share a childhood memory through their meal which triggers an enjoyable feeling in their weekly uploads. The incorporation of their native language mixed with English, mostly from Daniel’s part, also makes an interesting visual representation of the partnership between our content creators.

The channel also presents other well-known content on the digital platform community. These can range from annual Q&A’s to travel vlogs, with the couple sharing their favorite meals from each trip. These videos are intertwined with content presented in their other social media platforms, which serves as a nice connection to the other communities causing their brand to come full circle.

Future Neighbor was created in December 2016 drawn by the couple’s inspiration for watching different cooking shows to recreate the recipes at home. The channel comprises 361 videos and 337,000 subscribers. This has led to no less than 50,000 views on their varied recipe platform and strong followings on other platforms such as Instagram, with 11,000 followers, and Facebook, with 2,4000 followers.

This has caused the content creators to branch out in other areas outside of their main platform to keep their brand evolving. This includes the creation of their shop named Gochujar, which serves as a selling point of artisanal Korean products for home cooking, kitchenware, and beauty founded by Daniel along with Katie’s technical lead. It has also prompted the website Future Dish, which serves as an extension to their YouTube channel as well as a combination of merchandise, tips, and food guides.

The channel also features a new podcast stemming from Daniel and Katie’s main platform. Titled the Future Neighbor Podcast, the couple strives to cover a variety of topics that range from strange stories to their opinions on current subjects. It was launched in June 2020 with 684 subscribers and distributed on 10 well-known podcast platforms.

If you are in the search for simplified recipes or learning aspects of a new culture, Future Neighbors proves to be a newfangled premise in the ever-growing digital platform community. Daniel and Katie’s simple approach makes their mission exemplary for future generations who seem to crave to expand their ability in different areas. This duo’s alluring love through the kitchen is sure to be a recipe for success not to be missed.
