Broadcast: The CW’s Batwoman has had a tumultuous run so far in its limited-time on-air with only two seasons under its belt. The show was formerly led by the model and actress Ruby Rose until she was written out after the end of the first season and replaced by Wallis Day. The mantle of Batwoman would be taken up by the new lead Javicia Leslie, playing the ex-con turned vigilante Ryan Wilder, who takes up the cowl after finding the Batsuit and uses her skills to avenge her mother’s death. Ruby Rose claimed that the reasons for her departure were due to more physical problems with being the lead in an action superhero show after a harrowing back injury and subsequent surgery. EW reports that Rose believes in Wilder’s ability to lead the show and has nothing but praise for the new carrier of the Batwoman moniker, "I think she definitely knows what she's doing and she seems fantastic," Rose says. "I think that honestly, I was so proud and so happy when I was told who would be replacing me. I'm just really stoked and I'm definitely going to watch the next season as well and see how it all comes together." Season two of Batwoman has been fairing pretty well over its past few episodes with an average 0.09 rating in the demo and viewer average of 425,000 overall, breaking into the seventh spot in the top ten among cable broadcasts.

Streaming: Based on a best-selling Filipino comic of the same name comes Trese, a new Netflix-produced anime production and has gathered a large following due to the popularity of the beloved graphic novels and their faithfulness to Philipino culture. The portrayal of Manila, the use of Filipino actors and voice talents to fully flesh out the English dub, and the meticulous detail by the animators has been lauded by critics and fans alike. New viewers can count on its stellar storytelling by bringing to life some of The Philippines ’ darkest folklore to animated form in a tense horror-thriller. The story follows a young girl Alexandra Trese, who acts as a sort of bridge between the supernatural world and humanity and investigates when these two sides collide or violate supernatural pacts. As reported by Esquire, Trese has been dominating the global streaming market and is currently the #1 watched show in the Philippines, #3 in Qatar, #4 in the United Arab Emirates, and #5 in Jamaica, with it debuting in the top 10 in 11 different countries in its first 24 hours and top 10 in 19 countries as of June 13th.
