Ratings Report: 'Star Trek' Soars In Its Second Season While 'Nancy Drew' Searches For Her Fans

Broadcast: Now more than halfway through its fourth and final season, Nancy Drew has found its audience, currently sitting as The CW’s second most watched series. Episodes eight and nine of what will ultimately be a 13-episode season aired on July 19th and July 26th respectively. Combined, these two episodes averaged 357,000 viewers in the P2+ demographic with a rating of 0.12. It performed notably weaker in the P18-49 group, averaging just 47,000 viewers per episode with a rating of 0.04. Typically, programming on The CW is geared toward a younger audience, but the Nielsen data collected suggests Nancy Drew may skew towards a slightly older group. Considering the character of Nancy Drew was first introduced in Carolyn Keene’s 1930 novel, it is possible that nostalgia has helped keep this series afloat for its four season run.

Nancy Drew is a contemporary depiction of the titular character’s famous mystery solving adventures, complete with a reimagined cast that brings the legendary crew into the modern age. This version of Nancy Drew sees her and her capable crew work to solve supernatural mysteries that threaten the safety and wellbeing of those who inhabit her small town of Horseshoe Bay. In this latest season, Drew launches a new investigation into the unknown after a group of bodies are seemingly dug up and stolen from the town cemetery. After a string of unexplained paranormal crimes continue to plague the town, Drew must assemble her old crew to get to the truth. Kennedy McMann (The Good Doctor, Tell Me Lies) stars as Nancy Drew. Drew is joined by her former nemesis George Fan, played by Leah Lewis (Elemental, Batwheels), her co-worker at the local diner Bess Marvin, as portrayed by Maddison Jaizani (Into the Badlands, Versailles, Tyrant), and her ex-boyfriend and town mechanic Ned Nickerson, played by Tunji Kasim (The Good Liar, The Kill Team).

Cable: Sistas approaches its mid-season finale while continuing to put up the strong numbers it has become accustomed to. Episodes eight and nine, which aired July 19th and July 26th respectively, brought in a sizable audience, once again securing its title as BET’s most watched series. For the P2+ group, these episodes averaged 994,000 viewers with a rating of 0.32. For the P18-49 group these episodes averaged 262,000 viewers with a rating of 0.21. With only a couple episodes left in the first part of season 6, it is looking likely that Sistas will maintain its No. 1 status. Though Sistas has not yet been renewed for a seventh season, this possibility seems more likely with each new episode.

Together they scour the galaxy in search of strange new worlds, discovering new species and civilizations in the process. This series offers a more contemporary take on its colorful cast of characters, with each demonstrating greater depth and modern sensibilities.
