Ratings Report: Holiday Season Approaches


Network: Over on CBS, Bob Hearts Abishola has seen a steady rise in ratings over the past few weeks. The November 4th episode had a very slight decrease of 1.54 percent, concluding with a total of 5.620 million viewers. This was only a small deviation because the show continued its upward climb with a 7.06% increase the following episode. November 18th’s episode had 6.017 million viewers. Coming off of a significant 17.53 percent decrease, All Rise has had a strong uptick in the past two weeks. November 4th’s episode had a 13.91 percent increase ending with 5.111 million viewers which is a fairly substantial jump from the previous 4.487 million viewers. The following episode had a smaller increase of 4.25 percent ending with 5.328 million viewers. God Friended Me has had a strong performance the past couple of weeks, returning to its original viewer count at the start of the season. November 10th’s episode had a 5.92 percent decrease ending with 6.101 million viewers. The following episode had a 17.14 percent increase launching the viewer count back up to 7.147 million viewers. 

OWN

Cable: On November 12th, OWN’s Ambitions made its midseason return. The drama was met with a 25.41 percent loss in viewership which brought the viewer count to 590,000 viewers. This is a significant drop from its midseason finale which had 791,000 viewers. The following episode has continued the decline with an 8.31 percent decrease in viewership ending with 541,000 viewers. The CW’s Black Lightning saw a massive increase from its last episode in the month of October. On November 11th, there was a 35.69 percent increase in viewership which brought total viewership from 524,000 to 711,000. Unfortunately, the following episode suffered a loss of 15.33 percent which brought viewership down to 602,000. All American has experienced less volatile ratings in the past two weeks. November 11th’s episode had a minor 1.70 percent increase from the previous episode, moving the total viewership to 717,000. The following episode had a decrease of 4.60 percent, which brought viewership down to 684,000. 

JTBC

International: This week in Korean television has shown some minor ratings improvements since our last check in. The Terrestrial TV (KBS2, MBC, SBS) ratings are as follows: When The Camellia Blooms-17.7%, Never Twice-7.7%, The Tale Of Nokdu-6.3%,  Secret Boutique-3.2%, Extraordinary You-2.9%. The cable tv (JTBC,OCN, tvN) tv ratings are as follows: Chief Of Staff 2-4.1%, My Country: The New Age-4.0%, Miss Lee-3.2%, Catch The Ghost-2.8%, Pegasus Market-2.4%, Melting Me Softly-1.9%, The Lies Within-1.5%. 

Online: Among the many new Apple TV shows available, M. Night Shyamalan’s new psychological horror series stands out as a promising entry into the ever-growing horror television genre. The story follows a grieving couple who lost their child just 13 weeks after its birth. The mother, in processing her grief, is prescribed a lifelike babydoll to take care of. Her perception of the doll becomes that of a real child. During this process, she hires a nanny who exhibits strange behaviors and a similar perception of the doll. The series premieres on November 28th.
