Broadcast: Bob Hearts Abishola, is a new sitcom on CBS that tells the story of a middle-aged sock salesman from Detroit falling in love with his nurse after suffering a heart attack. The series has been consistently picking up steam as it rolled to a big finale after hitting just a little over 5.1 million viewers and over the past two weeks has averaged 5 million. The show stars Billy Gardell, Folake Olowofoyeku, Matt Jones, and Christine Ebersole. It was recently renewed for a third season. The show also happens to be Billy Gardell’s second successful sitcom on the Eye network as he found mainstream success on Mike and Molly, which ran for six seasons.

Cable: Pose, a critically acclaimed, Golden Globe, and Primetime Emmy award-winning series, is back for a third and final season that will wrap up the story and bring the character’s arcs to a conclusion. The season will feature the Black and Latino LGBTQ+ scene in New York surrounding the drag/ball culture in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It has been performing well in the demo despite the typical spring decline in ratings that is a sign of a return to normal after the hyper-inflated pandemic ratings incline this time last year. With a 0.12 rating in the demo and performing well in the older demographics as well, the premiere jumped out to a lead with almost 500,000 viewers and since then has fallen considerably from week to week with the past two episodes averaging 382,000 viewers.

Streaming: Family Reunion the Netflix sitcom has come flying out of the gate repeatedly over the past few years as it keeps getting renewed. The Tia Mowery-led series has spawned 3 full seasons and a Christmas special that aired on Netflix last holiday season. Sitting at a 6.5 IMDB viewer rating and appearing on Netflix’s top 10 when its new season premiered, it also appeared at the 10 spots on Nielsen’s latest streaming top 10 from April 12th-18th with 171 million minutes (2.85 million hours) watched, while sharing a landscape with Falcon and the Winter Soldier and The Crown. The first season/part has generally favorable reviews among critics as it sits at a 67% fresh rating with critics on the Tomatometer and a 76% rating among audience members with people loving the show and cast.

International: Bossam: Steal the Fate is a new historical fiction romance about a young widower who takes part in the tradition at the time called “Bossam” in which an older bachelor kidnaps a woman at night in a blanket and makes her his new wife. Things become complicated when Ba-woo, the main character, accidentally kidnaps Princess Soo-kyeong, who becomes a widow on the day of her wedding. The show has been gaining viewers with episode 3 watched by 1.54 million viewers and episode 4 gaining an additional 302,400 viewers to make a personal record of 1.84 million viewers with a total average of 1.69 million per episode, a strong start for this new romance.
