Broadcast: Reporter Rachel Scott has been promoted. She will soon be the new ABC News White House Correspondent and D.C. correspondent. Originally a production associate for ABC News, she learned skills helpful for her career and has been since working up the ladder of the journalist trade. After later working at GMA Digital, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work on ABC’s White House team. Later she transitioned to full time coverage reporting, giving her the opportunity to interview Vice President Mike Pence earlier this year.

It is now time for Tamera Mowry-Housley to bid farewell to the show that she had been a part of for six seasons. After seven years, Mowry-Housley has decided to leave her talk show The Real. She made the announcement on her Instagram after posting a tribute message to friend and former Glee actress Naya Rivera who was found dead in Ventura County. As of now, the show will consist of Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Houghton.

Nick Cannon, actor and former host of America’s Got Talent is now under fire for having said Anti-Semitic (Anti-Jewish) remarks on his podcast. As a result, his talk show, The Nick Cannon Talk Show will no longer be debuting this year. Lionsgate and its division Debmar-Mercury, the companies behind the show, have expressed dislike for Nick Cannon’s remarks. However, the team hopes that Nick Cannon can continue to create enjoyable content in the future.

The late-night talk show, A Little Late With Lilly Singh, will be back for a second season. Although production dates are TBD, Singh is excited that her show will be back on NBC. The first 97-episode-long season consisted of special guests such as Jessica Alba, Ashley Graham, Snoop Dogg and Terry Crews. Lilly Singh is also the first woman of South Asian and Indian descent to host a show of this kind.

Cable: Harris Faulkner, who already anchors two hours a week on Fox News, will now be the host of a unique primetime event bearing her name—"Harris Faulkner Presents: The Fight for America.” Faulkner, who is one of the few anchors of color on the station, says the show is going to contain ‘important voices’ and will consist of ‘real and raw’ communication that Americans need to hear. Faulkner’s personality and ability to think on the spot has allowed her to speak to the President. She has received positive feedback from journalism critics as a result. 

The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne tha God will be hosting a new talk show on Comedy Central. According to President of the Entertainment and Youth Group at parent company of Comedy Central ViacomCBS Chris McCarthy, “Charlamagne’s voice is very right for today. It’s fresh and real and resonating in a way that very few can do.” Charlamagne tha God, also known as Lenard Larry McKelvey, says that the show will have a ‘cable news feel’ and that it will be borrowing elements from other ‘weekly topical shows now on the air.’ He also tributes his current success to his earlier appearances on MTV2 and Viacom. 

Telemundo will be adding a late-night weekend newscast which started on July 18 to its schedule. The host will be Vanessa Hauc, and the show will also bear the name Noticias Telemundo Fin De Semana, as does the other weekend newscast that Hauc already anchors. The station has been increasing its news coverage and increasing the number of primetime news specials since March. Telemundo’s goal is to offer the most comprehensive news coverage each day of the week, especially because of the pandemic. 

Charter Spectrum will be adding five Latino TV networks to its selection. They are adapting Kids Central, ¡HOLA! TV, Inglés Para Todos, Tarima TV and Hogar de HGTV. These channels will be added to Charter Spectrum’s pre-existing Latino packages Spectrum’s Mi Plan Latino and Latino View TV packages at no additional cost. The addition of these networks will help diversify the options for viewers of Spanish and English TV. Charter’s Mi Plan Latino and Latino View both have more than 75 Spanish-language channels.
