Statement: Oprah Winfrey Network Licenses Tamron Hall from Disney Media Networks
Broadcast: On September 8, the Oprah Winfrey Network shared that it has licensed the daytime talk show Tamron Hall from Disney Media Networks. OWN premiered Season 2 of Tamron Hall on September 14. Since September 14, OWN has also begun premiering the second run of Tamron Hall multiple times a week. New episodes will air Monday-Friday at 8am and 1pm ET/PT, and the first season’s episodes will be shown Monday-Friday at 9am and 2pm ET/PT on OWN.
Cable: Sam Jay will be getting a weekly late night talk show on HBO. The currently unnamed show will see Prentice Penny sign on as Executive Producer. The episodes will be 30 minutes long and will cover trending topics such as race and politics. Of the various brands that represent Jay, Avalon and WME will step in as the primary brands supporting her upcoming show. WME also represents Penny, whose production company, A Penny For Your Thoughts, will oversee the executive production of the show. .
The View, usually known for its diverse pool of guests, has begun to book politically involved guests in recent weeks . During the week of 9/28 to 10/2 The View invited Senator Ted Cruz, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, Senator Bernie Sanders, Tanya Acker, Patricia Dimango, Michael Corriero, and South Carolina Democratic Senate nominee Jaime Harrison to be on the show, with guest Anthony Anderson being one of the only non-political guests appearing on the show that week.
Streaming: Steve Harvey is experiencing is experiencing moderate success with his talk show Steve on Watch. Harvey, having already released the first season through a deal with Facebook Watch, has begun to release episodes from the second season. Recently the second season has been rolling out episodes. Harvey shares that Facebook Watch gives him more freedom to create content than NBC. In the show, a 50-person Zoom audience watches Harvey communicate with celebrities such as Gabrielle Union, Jack Black and Steph Curry.
