Docuseries: Grammy-nominated Bronx rapper Fat Joe (born Joseph Antonio Cartagena) will host an upcoming interview series for Starz. The series is described as a “genre-busting series that blends interviews with celebrities and high-profile guests with an elevated documentary-style format.” Sean “Diddy” Combs and Lebron James are on board to produce the untitled pilot. In a press statement, Fat Joe said, “With Puff, LeBron, the incredible team at Starz, and myself teaming up, you have a dream team that is guaranteed to produce TV gold. Hosting a show has always been a dream of mine, and I’m thankful for everyone who helped make it a reality. I promise you that we’re going to push the envelope, deliver compelling interviews and provide pure entertainment.”

Game Show: South Africa’s Celebrity Game Night is renewed for a fourth season by NBCUniversal International Networks. The series will return in 2023 to E! Africa with hosts Anele Mdoda, Ayanda Thabethe, and Jason Goliath returning.

RuPaul - RuPaul’s Drag Race/VH1

Competitive Series: RuPaul’s Drag Race and its after-show RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked has been renewed for season 15 by VH1. Speaking on the renewal, RuPaul who also produces the reality TV show said, “We never take for granted the opportunity we’ve been given to showcase drag excellence and tell authentic queer stories. Thank you to the fans, World of Wonder, VH1, our cast and crew, and most of all, our brave and beautiful queens.”

RuPaul also stated that a highlight of his career is acting as the launching pad for all the queer artists appearing on his show— Providing them a platform to use towards success in the entertainment business. A popular Drag Race alum Shangela (Darius Jeremy Pierce) makes history as the first drag entertainer to compete in the upcoming Dancing with the Stars season. Shangela appeared in seasons two and three of RuPaul’s Drag Race and was a finalist in season three of All-Stars. They are also the co-host of the HBO reality tv series We’re Here.

Aden Thomas - Iheart

Lifestyle: South Africa is reviving the conflict-based reality TV series formula with Sê jou sê, hosted by Aden Thomas. The show will focus on disputes, fights, misunderstandings, and alleged deception between partners, family members, loved ones, and friends who are fighting. The reality series is said to follow the formats of American conflict-based shows like Maury and Jerry Springer.

With the start of college football season this month, Allen Media Group announced its deal to showcase football games streaming on Allen’s HBCU Go on duopoly stations owned by Paramount’s CBS Station group in 12 key markets. This deal will make these college football games available on TV stations in 60% of U.S. households and 70% of African-American households. “As a Louisiana native and football fan, I am personally and professionally proud to play a role in having our stations shine a light on Historically Black Colleges and Universities,” said President and Co-Head of CBS News and Stations, Wendy McMahon. Byron Allen, CEO of Allen Media Group, added, “We are proud to amplify these amazing athletes and HBCUs, while at the same time helping to finance the education of these young adults. Now sports fans across the country will have access to best-in-class games from America’s HBCUs.”
