Hard Numbers: ‘NBC Nightly News with Lestor Holt’ Maintains Number Two Spot & ‘Yasmin Vossoughian” continues to Beat ‘Symone’

Contestant: The beloved family gameshows – Family Feud’s ratings have been on the rise since the top of this year. Towards the end of the week, March 26, Nielsen Syndication Service national ratings showed that Family Feud rose from 4% (4,951,410) to 4.8% (5,941,692). Speaking of gameshow ratings, it’s ‘Funny You Should Ask’ which shows no change from the previous week’s ratings; 0.3 (371,355) NC.

Court: Justice is always served with a steady hand as is Hot Bench’s ratings at a constant 1.2% (1,485,423); the same as last week. People’s Court might be facing the hot bench themselves dropping 13% from the previous week’s rating, 0.8 (990,282), leaving them at a 0.7 (866,496) rating rank. Other courtrooms were just as consistent with Judge Mathis and Divorce Court managing to uphold their 0.5 (618,926) rating following Relative Justice and We the People with Judge Lauren Lake at 0.3 (371,355).

Yasmin Vossoughian - MSNBC

News & Politics: In the political news hemisphere, programs like NBC Nightly News with Lestor Holt continues to hold their spot as the second most popular show on NBC. Nightly News with Lestor Holt averages a total of 7.134 million viewers for the month of March, down -1.3% in ratings from last month. Moving on to the MSNBC universe sitting at the fifth most popular show– Alex Wagner Tonight is still managing its average score of 1.265 million monthly viewers. Craig Melvin’s Q1 reports have just come in with an average viewership of 623,000 as of March 31st. The Reid Out saw a slight rise in ratings by 0.3%, averaging March’s total audience to 1.14 million.

Fox News The Faulkner Focus suffered a -0.10% decline in ratings for the month of March averaging a total audience of 1,547,000 – a 135,000+ difference from February’s numbers averaging 1,683,000 viewers. Making Money with Charles Payne on the Fox Business channel kept steady during the month of March with a monthly viewership average of 159,000 seeing a 10K viewership difference since February. Rushing to make a difference in ratings NewsNation: Rush Hour started the month of March off strong with peak audience viewership of 215,000 before leveling out to a constant 117,000 by the end of the month. Morning in America followed suit ending off the month of March with 36,000 as their total audience. Lastly, The Chris Salcedo Show on Newsmax seemed to be on the rise since late March averaging an audience of 156,000 along with a constant rating of 0.05%.

As news of Trumps indictment seemed to fluctuate in the minds of political figures and audience alike so did the viewership for cable networks like MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News over the weekend. MSNBC’s American Voices with Alicia Menendez ratings went through a series of ups and downs differing by -/+50,000 viewers. Ayman’s viewership also faced ups and downs, ultimately making little to no change in average viewership accumulating 525,000 viewers and 0.17% rating. The Mehdi Hasan Show made similar strides in progress averaging a monthly viewership of 442,000 viewers and 0.14% rating. Velshi consistently garnered the attention of 37,300 targeted demographics described as people 18 to 25 years old; hitting a monthly high 616,000 average viewers for the month of March.

Sunday Show with Jonathan Capehart slowly pulls away from PoliticsNation with Al Sharpton for the 23rd spot with Capehart averaging a viewership of 470,000 versus Sharpton with 468,500. Even so Capehart’s numbers are down since last month’s (February) average of 505,000 compared to Sharpton’s increase from 450,000 average viewers. Yasmin Vossoughian also continues to average more than Symone. Vossoughian averaged a total viewership of 508,000 along with Sanders-Townsend at 424,000.

Inside Politics follows close Anderson Cooper 360° for the 8th spot on CNN by 11,000 viewers. Despite Inside Politics slight viewership change in March, accumulating an average viewership 612,000 and 0.20% rating, the series still shows progression in the race for Top 10 at CNN. Lawrence Jones Cross Country on Fox News averaged a total 914,000 viewers over the last four weeks.

Talk Shows: Top broadcasting newsmagazine syndicates, Inside Edition and Entertainment Tonight, are tied for the lead with Inside Edition dropping -5% to an average 2.1% (2,599,490) rating alongside Entertainment Tonight with a final rating of 2.1% dropping -9% since last week. In addition, Access Hollywood remains unchanged at a 0.8% (990,282) rating accompanied by Dish Nation at 0.2% (247,571).

Freshman shows Sherri led in ratings this week at 0.7; followed by Jennifer Hudson at 0.6 and Karomo at 0.4; none seeing change since last week. Talk show Tamron Hall continues to stay stagnant at 0.7 ratings.
