Hard Numbers: ‘Ayman’ Hits A Two-Year High, ‘NBC Nightly News’ Remains At The Top Of NBC
News (Daily – Broadcast): For the month of April, CBS Mornings fell to the 23rd most popular program on the network while climbing to the 51st overall position on TV. The show remained above 2.1 million viewers per month. Good Morning America (GMA) saw a constant dip in viewership this month. As of April 21st, it is ranked No. 6 among ABC programs. Likewise, despite a decline in viewers, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt came in at the top of NBC. Meanwhile, NBC’s No. 6 ranked program, The Today Show, averaged more than 2.7 million viewers overall.
News (Weekend – Broadcast): 60 Minutes dropped one place to No. 2 on CBS. As of April 21st, it accumulated 7.047 million viewers. Currently, Dateline NBC is ranked third on the network. It hit a record high since last February of 3.34 million viewers for the April 26th episode. Additionally, ABC’s 20/20 attracted 2.677 million viewers for its April 19th episode.
News & Politics (Daily – Cable): On April 15th, MSNBC’s The ReidOut (with Joy Reid) hit a high of 1.743 million viewers. It is currently ranked No. 6 on the channel. Alex Wagner Tonight followed as MSNBC’s No. 7 ranked program. Its April 5th episode notched a year-to-date low in viewership, currently ranked No. 13 on the channel. At the same time, Outnumbered was Fox News’ No. 8 most watched program, despite fluctuating viewership. CNN's Laura Coates Live reached a record high since last November of 736,000 viewers for the April 18th episode. As of April 11th, Fox Business’s Making Money with Charles Payne pulled in 166,000 viewers. The Chris Salcedo Show was up and down in viewership, dropping one spot to No. 5 on Newsmax.
News & Politics (Weekend – Cable): In April, MSNBC’s The Katie Phang Show maintained its viewership above 647,000. Ayman drew in 846,000 viewers on April 13th, its highest viewership in the past two years. The Sunday Show with Jonathan Capehart ranked No. 21 on MSNBC with growing viewers, while PoliticsNation with Al Sharpton ranked two spots behind. First of All with Victor Blackwell’s viewership rose this month and remains CNN’s No. 16 most popular show. Inside Politics fluctuated in viewership, falling to No. 4 on CNN.
Talk Show: On April 7th, syndicated program The Tamron Hall Show averaged 1.051 million viewers. This viewership was up 8% from the previous month.
Sports: Pardon the Interruption jumped to the No. 8 ranked show on ESPN. As of April 24th, 690,000 viewers tuned in. First Take also moved to No. 12 on the network, up four spots.
