Tzi Ma Wants More Awards Recognization For AAPI Actors

For acting legend Tzi Ma, his latest role as Mulan's father in Disney's live-action adaptation is just one of the many dad roles he's played in his lengthy career. You may know him from Tigertail,The Farewell, Rush Hour and Arrival but the legendary work of this actors spans decades crossing paths with some of the most prolific actors and creators in Hollywood. That being said, it wasn't always an easy path for this actor. In fact, Ma turned to acting as a way to circumvent racist bullying and attacks in Jr. High. But today the newly minted member of the academy has high hopes for the tomorrow's AAPI moviemakers and actors, he sees a change but urges that more can always be done.
