Shooting On Film: What You Need To Know: Featuring Olan Collardy

Digital Orchard has been the scanning partner on high-profile celluloid film productions including Murder On The Orient Express, which was shot on iconic 65mm film.

There has been a real resurgence in filmmakers pushing to use motion picture film over digital cameras on their productions, and this session was designed to demystify the process of shooting on film alongside (or instead of) digital.

We look at the creative decisions behind format choice, the impact on the budget, some technical know-how and workflow insights, and stories from the set about hybrid productions.

Panelists:

  • Molly Manning Walker - cinematographer and writer/ director

  • Olan Collardy - cinematographer
