Game Control: Yu-Gi-Oh! Creator Dies, Teaser Trailers, A New VRRPG, And A Game About Divorce
Console: Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of the manga and card game Yu-Gi-Oh!, was found dead in the waters off the coast of Nago City, in the Okinawa Prefecture of Japan. He was 60 years old. Kazuki Takahashi, also known as Kazuo Takahashi, was born in Tokyo in 1961, and began his career in manga in 1982. Yu-Gi-Oh! was first published in 1996 and was an instant success both in Japan and among global audiences. As well as creating the manga, Takahashi designed the structure of the card game. Konami released the first iteration of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game in 1999, and as of 2021, the card game has sold approximately 35 billion cards and made around $10 billion.
CFK, the developer and publisher of popular IP & indie games, announced that it will release My Divorce Story on Switch on August 18, 2022. The game focuses on a married couple’s divorce, and players must collect evidence of their spouse cheating on them and file for a successful divorce in this unique adventure game. CFK claims the project was started by a South Korean divorce lawyer and is based on actual local divorce cases.
Sony and Bungie have announced that the publisher's $3.6 billion deal to acquire Bungie has closed, with Bungie now set to fully integrate into Sony's operations. Both companies have confirmed that games like Destiny 2 will remain fully cross-platform games going forward. Sony seems to have acquired Bungie to bulk up its own live service chops, as well as to pursue multimedia Destiny adaptations with the publisher's extensive film division. The merger is also relevant to Bungie's outspoken company policies.
PC: Game developer studio Action Square has released a trailer for its upcoming RPG mobile game Kingdom: The Blood. The game is based on the Netflix series Kingdom and aims to follow the series by recreating the show's characters and visceral action. The studio used professional Korean sword dancers to properly replicate Korean-style combat. In addition, players will have various costume options to customize their characters which feature deep colors and textures representative of 16th-century Korea. Players will be able to explore Korean locations while exploring the zombie-infested city of Hanyang. Kingdom: The Blood will feature both PvP and PvE elements, a story mode that follows the Netflix series, and a five-minute battle mode called Conquest. Kingdom: The Blood has no release date but will launch on mobile and PC.
Chimeraland, a new open-world survival game from Chinese developer Pixel Soft and Tencent's publishing brand Level Infinite, sets players in a sprawling, prehistoric world based on Eastern mythology filled with magical creatures. The world of Chimeraland features four distinct continents spread across more than 4,000 square kilometers, all accessible on a spherical map design that eliminates borders and loading screens. Like most survival games, players will gather resources and build outposts and settlements. Similar to Pokémon, Chimeraland's creatures can be captured and tamed as pets. Unlike Pokémon, however, these creatures can also be fed to one another to increase the chance the player will end up with one of the devoured creature's body parts. Players can then put those parts on their pets to grant them different abilities.
Mobile: The Dendro Element was teased in the latest Genshin Impact Sumeru region preview. On July 10, 2022, game developer Hoyoverse released its first preview teaser video of Sumeru on the game's YouTube channel. The teaser revealed the first look of Dendro, the last element in this game. This nation of flora and foliage is in the West of Liyue. It has lots of jungles with magical plants. For example, the Traveler in the video uses some giant mushrooms, leaves, and flowers as boosters to jump and reach higher places quickly. In addition to new mechanics, there are many plant enemies in the wild with necessary drops. This new content will become available with the launch of the Genshin Impact 3.0 update coming later this year.
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has officially announced pre-registration for Yu-Gi-Oh! CROSS DUEL, the studio's upcoming card battler on mobile, is now open for pre-registration. In Yu-Gi-Oh! CROSS DUEL, players compete with up to three other players as they battle in real-time combat. The game features a single-player mode, four-player versus, and four-player co-op modes. The intuitive style assists newcomers to the franchise as well. Players can expect to encounter classic characters from seven Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series, enjoy stunning 3D rendering of Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters, a monster customization feature, and more.

RuinsMagus is a Japanese role-playing game released on July 7, 2022, with a focus on dungeon crawling and magic-based combat. Developed by gaming studio CharacterBank, the game’s anime-like visuals and storytelling style deliver the sort of action players would expect to find in a VR game built around a much larger, more established storyline. Combat forces players to utilize everything they have at their disposal. RuinsMagus is voiced entirely in Japanese and subtitled in English or Japanese. Players start as a novice wizard and are soon joined by Iris, a new researcher at the Enigma Research Institute, to unravel the mysteries hidden in ancient ruins.
