Will Smith to Speak at Saudi Film Confex

Will Smith will deliver a keynote on the opening day of the second edition of the Saudi Film Confex, which takes place in Riyadh from October 9-12. The event will bring together local and international industry experts to discuss strategies for advancing and strengthening the Saudi film industry.

Other notable speakers include Helen Hoehne, who will give an in-depth talk on the Golden Globe Awards; Jim Gianopulos, who will provide a broad overview of the global film industry; and Lucy Jacquet, who will share insights on location scouting.

Spanning four days, the conference will feature more than 30 panel discussions and workshops on topics such as film financing, distribution, exhibition, and industry regulation. Attendees can also explore an exhibition dedicated to innovation in the industry.

A series of Film Talks will spotlight Saudi talent, including a discussion on the career of the creative duo Godus Brothers, a presentation by Ahmed Almulla on the journey of Saudi film festivals, and a conversation with Abdullah Bamajboor and Osama Alkhurayji about the new wave of Saudi drama.
