SAG Awards Announce 2024 Date For Its Netflix Livestream Debut
The Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) have set a date for their debut show on Netflix. The 30th annual program will return to its longtime home at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, and will be streamed live on Netflix.
Last year's SAG Awards aired on Netflix's YouTube website after the company reached an 11th-hour deal to broadcast the ceremony (after its deal with TBS/TNT expired), but it was too late to put it on the actual streaming service in time. As a result, the 2024 edition will be the ceremony’s debut on Netflix.
Meanwhile, after being held at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in 2023 and the Barker Hangar in 2022, the SAG Awards will return to the Shrine. It had previously been held at the Shrine every year from 1997 until 2021. The SAG Awards also revealed eligibility dates and a schedule for the upcoming awards season. To be nominated for the 2024 award, eligible performances must air or premiere between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023. Participants must send submissions to the SAG Awards’ official submission site.
Actors can submit their own performances or authorize producers, studios/networks, agents, managers, or publicists to do so on their behalf. Submissions will be accepted beginning Monday, August 28, 2023, and will close on Friday, October 27, 2023.
Nominations for the 30th annual SAG Awards will be announced on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
