Michelle Yeoh To Be Honored With TIFF Share Her Journey Groundbreaker Award

The Toronto International Film Festival's TIFF Share Her Journey Groundbreaker Award will be presented to actress Michelle Yeoh at the festival's forthcoming Tribute Awards on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, as sponsored by BVLGARI. Yeoh is recognized for her decades of innovative work on the international screen in many different genres. Past performances include the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) and Ang Lee's martial arts film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), and her most recent works being Crazy Rich Asians (2019) and Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022).

The TIFF Share Her Journey Groundbreaker Award honors a woman who has contributed to the advancement of women throughout their careers and who is a trailblazer in the film industry. The newly minted award is modeled after TIFF's Share Her Journey initiative, which was established to promote women at every step of their creative journeys, address the issue of gender parity in the film business, and highlight female artists who have made a significant impact on their sector.
