Jonathan Majors - COREY NICKOLS

African American actor Jonathan Majors has received an IMDb Fan Favorite STARmeter Award from IMDb, an authoritative source for information about movies, TV shows, and celebrities, in appreciation of his strong performance on the IMDbPro STARmeter rankings, which track the page views of IMDb's more than 200 million monthly visitors worldwide. The STARmeter Award is also part of IMDb's celebration of Black History Month, which includes unique videos, editorial lists, and photo galleries honoring Black talent, filmmakers, titles, and achievements. Simu Liu, Lauren Ridloff, and Eiza González are among the previous honorees.

Majors accepted the award at Park City, Utah, during the Sundance Film Festival, where he made his debut in Elijah Bynum's Magazine Dreams. Majors thanked IMDb and its fans for checking out his IMDb name page and earning him the STARmeter Award winner in his victory speech. He continues: "When I first started pursuing a career in TV and film, IMDb was a crucial resource in helping me understand the entertainment industry and it continues to help me discover titles to watch and interact with other professionals." Devotion, Lovecraft County, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, The Harder They Fall, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania, and many more are among Majors' other credits. An upcoming project for Majors is starring alongside actor and director Michael B. Jordan on Creed III.

IMDb showcased famous Black actors, directors, producers, and writers with special videos and curated photo galleries throughout the month of February. "Things to Watch: Significant Black Tales" (which includes Jonathan Majors), "A Celebration of Black Superheroes," and a photo gallery showcasing "Black Hollywood Stars to Watch in 2023" were among the features. Majors presently serves on The Gotham's board of directors and was a major force behind The Gotham's Sidney Poitier Initiative (SPI), a program whose pillars focus on mentorship, scholarship, project funding, and career progression for Black and other underrepresented artists.
