76th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Nominations

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards Nominations were announced on July 17, 2024, in a virtual broadcast hosted by actress Sheryl Lee Ralph and actor Tony Hale.

Highlights of the announcement featured many people of color. Mr. and Mrs. Smith led the drama categories with six POC nominations and Abbott Elementary also led the comedy categories with six nominations. In addition, True Detective: Night Country garnered three POC nominations for the limited series or anthology categories.

The ceremony will air live from the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California on Monday, September 15 on ABC from 5-8 p.m. PT/ 8-11 p.m. ET.

PEOPLE OF COLOR NOMINATION BREAKDOWN

Breakdown of nominees.

• Asian: There were 10 Asian nominees in 2024, down from 5 in 2023.

• Arab: For people of Arab heritage the total number of nominees was 1 in 2024. This is down from 1 in 2023.

• Black: There were 18 Black nominees in 2024. This is down from 16 in 2023.

• Hispanic: There were 5 nominees in 2024. This is up 1 from 2023.

• Indigenous: There were 4 nominees in 2024. This is up 3 from 2023.

• Diverse: As the industry continues producing programming with racially diverse cast and hosts, the 2024 nominations decreased from 29 in 2023 to 15 in 2024.
